For the remainder of my senior year, I intend on learning how to channel the experiences of the mind, the human condition, and the marriage between morality and compassion. I want to convey topical issues of the heart.
Previously this year, I have explored portraiture through the themes of memories, nostalgia, expressionism and symbolism. I would like to connect all of these elements together finally more concisely.
By using the juxtaposition of other symbolic imagery, I wish to communicate a story that can be appreciated by a complete audience. Using animals or settings, I wish to personify and imply the portraiture of a person and their emotional state. I am interested in this as another way to describe a person emotionally, nostalgically, and really give a sense of who they are and where they come from. Also, allowing a commentary on experiences of people and how they treat and react to others as a reflection upon themselves. It is the relationship between them and the world that defines who they are.
The market I intend to focus on is an accumulation of editorial, book cover, and gallery work.
My first assignment will be based upon a story from a book of fables. It encompasses the theme of love, deception, and vulnerability. I wish to challenge myself by including more narrative elements into the piece to include more content.
