sugar magnolia

Within the next 24 hours I will officially be a CCS alumni.

So much is stirring within me, so much anticipation and fear. Completely exhilirating. A huge thank you to all of my inspiring and gracious instructors and mentors over the past 4 years. As well as the love and support from my family members and true friends. I am so blessed.

Today I finished hanging my senior wall and a wave of ease came over me. Short lived of course, but for that moment I was truly happy to see my world visually in a wholesome form in front of me.

And as the rain poured down, I found myself locked out of my apartment,..and then lost twice off of the highway. But once my business cards were finally in my hands, I felt it all coming into place again.

More good news yet, my car is finally fixed! No more bumming rides and vehicles.

Today I had the joy of riding down backroads with my grandfather in his pick up truck. We drove past where his old farm was and talked about when he met my grandmother over 60 years ago. Everything has a way of working itself out when you keep the faith and drive to work at it.

So along the lines of change and growing is my final studio painting for Thumbtack Press.

Congrats to all the 2008 Graduates of College for Creative Studies! Woo!

And huge congrats to you for being a shining star in the Illustration Department as well. You really had some breakthrough moments this last semester. Your friends, family and peers have a lot to be proud about with you. Their support hasn't gone to waste.

You've been a gem. Congrats again and welcome to our side of the world in being a CCS alum. It's a nice benchmark in life to hang onto and you should be proud of it all. From here on out is when the REAL education starts.

Congrats, girl! I'm bummed I didn't find you at the show, too! It seems there were quite a few people I missed, which is weird because I was everywhere!! We DEFINITELY need to get together soon, though. We need to plan this NYC trip!!
