Finally after about 10 unfinished ideas, I pulled out the old palette and turp and just started at a small canvas with drippy lines of burnt sienna.
I think this may have gotten me out of my funk. And I have a new idea for a series.
My most recent journal has quotes and drawings in it intermittently, and when I received it I flipped through to one page which was my favorite. I drew designs all around it back in December, and it was the next page for the other night.
"Whoever has loved knows all that life contains of sorrow and joy."
Amen to that.
So, I have been thinking about trying this painting a day routine--and I am thinking I'm going to attempt it. My brain needs the exercise. And my paint brushes are lonely. If all goes well I would like to set it up with its own site online for purchase. We shall see.
I will upload my painting from tonight as soon as it dries so I can scan it in for the best quality.

Sounds fascinating, I can't wait.
So you finally decided to join the Painting-a-day bandwagon, eh? You go, girl! Haha! I've really been itching to get back into that, but it's been hard time-wise with the other work I've been doing. I did manage to do two small ones in the last month, though, but haven't gotten around to posting them. Sigh. You'll see how fun it is - you'll be addicted!
I'd still love to head out your way and try some plein-air painting together before winter comes. Something I've never tried before. Wanna set a date for it?? We gotta get together!!
